Nylon Sepid Manufacturing Co.PJS
A small shop, named Nylon Sepid, with the aim of providing plastic products was established on Molavi Street in Tehran in 1978. The purpose of establishing the shop was primarily to be involved in retail business. The market demands and the founder's foresight, however, led the small establishment to use a small extruder machine to produce plastic products in 1982. The shop developed further, and the number of machineries and production increased significantly which compelled the management to expand the small workshop into a factory. The workshop was moved to 2000sqm Khatoon Abad factory on Khavaran highway. The management, then, brought in more modern machineries and equipment and thus improved the quality and increased the production. The company grew rapidly and in 2004 a new 20000sqm factory was built in Abbas Abad industrial area. It has the latest machineries and equipment with a production capacity of 120 metric tons per day. The company with 300 staff at its disposal is capable of manufacturing freezer bags, refuse and waste material bags and plastic table cloth in different types.
Nylon Sepid is among the 100 eminent exporting companies in Iran. The company exported 3000tons of goods in 2011 and 1000tons in the first half of the year 2012. Its customers are predominantly Asian, European and African countries. The company's international customers enjoy the following facilities:
1. Procurement of transportation based on the weight and the volume of the goods.

The tests include:
1. MFI (Melt Flow Index)
This is to determine the specificity of the raw material used. The closer the MFI of two materials the closer are their properties.
2. Tensile test
All the manufactured products are tested for tensile stress (the force required to tear the product), stretch test ( maximum stretching of the material under tension before it tears)and tear test ( minimum amount of force required to tear the material). This is to provide quality product to satisfy the customer requirements.
3. Impact test.
This test determines how the test material withstands impact force.
4. Air pressure resistance
This test determines how the material is resistance to air pressure before it burst.
IR Additives
The sunlight increases the temperature inside a green- house during the day and at night the temperature inside the green-house d drops. Thermal films, containing IR additives, are capable of absorbing the infrared light thus reducing heat losses within a green-house at night. The IR additive causes the reflection of infrared rays and therefore make a temperature difference of 4ºC compared to films devoid of IR additives. When the sunlight intensity is high or at its highest, the IR additives in the films reflect the sun rays evenly preventing heat damage to the produce and assists their growth and ripening evenly. These kinds of films are known as thermal cover.
Anti -fogging additives
Condensation, the formation of water-droplets as a result of plant photosynthesis on the inner side of films in green-houses, has destructive effects on plants and their produce. Fogging reduces sunlight entrance into a green- house by 30 percent which in turn affects plant and its fruit growth adversely. Dew (water droplets) formation on plants can cause plant diseases. Water –droplets can act as a lens and have adverse effect on plants. Films with antifogging additives have the following advantages:
1. Early harvesting
2. More crops
3. Better crop quality
4. Reduction in the number of blights and diseases and usage of pesticides.
Green house cover
Nylon Sepid company produces light monolayer polyethylene (LDPE) films with up to 8m width and 60-320 micron thickness. The film contains various additives and is used to cover green houses. It is possible, based on the customer requirements, to add IR, UV, and antifogging additives to control temperature, ultraviolet ray penetration, and fog formation respectively.
UV Additives (Film strength and durability)
Addition of anti-ultraviolet additive to green -house nylon protects it from UV rays damaging effect; it enhances its shelf life and improves the quality of plants produce. It is possible to determine the quantity of the additive in the manufacturing of the nylon to suit different regional conditions.
Properties of PP film
Translucent/ Transparent
Smooth
High gloss
Good performance in high speed printing process
Resistance to oil and Grease permeability
Flexible
BOPP films that have milky or pearl like colour have pseudonym pearl.
BOPP film covered on one side with a thin layer of metal powder, like aluminum, has a glossy silver colour known as metalised film in industry.
Polypropylene is used in granules, sheets as well as film forms. Film is generally a thin layer of fluid or solid of any matter. Thin solid sheet of Polypropylene film comes in CPP or OPP and BOPP form. BOPP, biaxially oriented polypropylene, is known as Teresbafan in the market. Teresbafan is produced as extrusion cascade and stretched on both sides. The film is more stable and heat resistant and is used in packaging and printing. CPP or OPP on the other hand do not have these properties.
BOPP has many applications in industry. It is used in packaging chips, snacks, biscuits, ice-cream, and macaroni. It is available in metalised and laminate forms.
Cellophane usage
1. Packaging food products
2. Packaging autoclaving hospital equipment
3. Packaging clothes
4 Packaging utensils
5. Packaging tar
6. Packaging building and decorating parts
7. Transparent and coloured table cloths
8. Wrapping writing paper
Nylon Sepid company utilizes the latest technological machineries to manufacture cellophane with 4-80 cm width. Manufacturing 80 cm width cellophane is Nylon Sepid Company speciality. Its main use is in covering restaurant tables. All the cellophane products come in rolls or bags in various dimensions. Cellophane can be prepared to be printed on with up to 6 different colours.
Polypropylene, also known as cellophane in industry, has a wide range of uses and applications among polymers. It is non- abrasive and cannot be scratched. It has a high tensile strength and it does not burst when it is subjected to high air pressure. It whitens when excessive force is exerted upon it. Cellophane has the following properties:
1. Transparency
2. Resistance against stretching
3. Low density
4. Discolouration
5. Resistance against acid and alkali
6. Withstanding high temperature compared to HDPE – LDPE
This type of polyethylene is made of linear molecules. The linearity of the molecules helps the crystallization of the polymer which makes it highly permeable among polyethylene compounds. Sacks manufactured by HDPE, with large molecular weight, do not deform and are used widely in packaging.
Nylon Sepid utilizes the latest technology and machineries and can produce 40 tons of HDEP.
This type of polyethylene has branched chains which cannot bond together very well; they have a weak inter molecular bond with a lesser stable cohesive force. Polyethylene is not dense and compact; it has low density and number of molecules which makes it very flexible. LDPE films have good optical properties; they are chemically neutral, odourless and impermeable.
